An assortment of projects

I suppose this blog is more of an opportunity to share a few photos with family & friends than anything else, although I'm also hoping it will give me the incentive to finish a few of my projects!

As a new blogger I thought I would add a few photos of what I have been up to at the crafting end of the kitchen. My fabric and general 'spread' is my long-suffering dear hubby's pet hate and it has been agreed that the kitchen will only be a temporary home for my creativity. The photo on the right shows where I intend to be in a few months ... watch this space!

I made this cushion cover from a pattern by Kellie Wolfson, you can see her fabulous post about her pattern at Don't Look Now! I love her modern twist on applique, and with some bright colours I think it turned out quite well. I need to find - or make - a small cushion pad now to go inside it.

During my recent trip to visit my dear sister-in-law J we went on a quilting shop hunt. We found a great little place in the middle of no-where called the Quilters Trading Post. I bought some wonderful striped fabrics (I just love stripes) and these oven mitts are one of the things I made with some Riley Blake 'Sweet Cakes' fabric that I got at the same time.

My dear sister-in-law H has just welcomed a new nephew to their family. I couldn't help but feel inspired to get creative and I came up with these creations for the big & little brothers. I used a cute font and some scraps of cotton fabrics ... I hope they come in handy!

It has certainly been a busy week, with more in the pipeline!
